Our Mental Health Counsellors provide assessment and short-term counselling (6-8 sessions) for psychosocial and mental health problems for adults. They can help you to understand your strengths and challenges, clarify goals, build skills to improve coping, and enhance resilience and wellbeing. They can also help you access services and supports in the community or online that may be of benefit instead of or in addition to providing counselling services. Psychoeducational and therapeutic groups will be offered in the future.
Types of challenges addressed by our Mental Health Counsellors include:
- Depression and/or anxiety
- Parenting related issues
- Personality Disorder Symptoms
- Relationship struggles
- Self-esteem difficulties
- Stress/burnout
- Trauma
- Work related problems
Mental health services at Ancient Rivers FHT are prioritized for clients who do not have access to EAP, workplace, or other benefits for counselling, and do not have access to publicly funded services through an alternate organization.
Mental health services are offered free of charge. To request an appointment, speak with your healthcare provider for a referral.
